Geoff, the beast should have been here this week, however due to the air freight company taking it upon themselfs to try and double charge me, i promply told them to shove it, something about how the motor being a petrol engine there MIGHT be the risk of something happening on route, what a load of ****, any ways i am tryng to sort this all out, they are now classing it as dangerous frieght, that is the reason why the extra price, but the funny bit is it will go on the same plane, with nothing else done to it than how it would have been sent now, so my questioning is WHY????? it is ready to go i just not going to pay double just cause they know i want it in a hurry, Hey Waddles how bout you do a flight over there in one of your little planes and throw it on for me.
I got a plan B in place though i dont want to go down this track, but i will if needed.
It is frustrating for me and alot of other people waiting to see and fly it with me, but i need to get things sorted out for the others to follow, nothing much is easy how ever i wasnt planning on being this hard.

Re: Any News
Let me ask a silly question here... is there any fuel in the tank of the gyro??
If there are no flammables on board then there is no risk.
Cheers,
Nick

Nick, you would be correct, the tanks are drain and flushed, carby's too from what i am hearing from the factory, seems the 2 that were flown to the USA no probs, anyway how would they know they never even seen the machine, they just decided that since it has a petrol motor it double the price it is that simple.

Re: Any News
Hmmm,
So these guys haven''t come to the realisation that they are sitting on a very large flying fuel tank full of Avtur??
What you could do is get the sender to ''inert'' the tank by filling it with nitrogen and capping it off, just to be sure, to be sure.. then you can sign a non dangerous goods declaration - and tell them that it is an electric drive gyro - by Jutka Tervamaki.. they might buy it if you point them to Jutka's site.
Cheers,
Nick.

Re: Any News
I assume that all the oils, water, coolants, etc have been flushed and cleaned out?
Mind you I'm not saying they haven't I'm just asking, thats all.
Then of course the unit(Gyro) must be steamed cleaned to make sure it has no seeds etc in it as well, sometimes it is better to use an agent here to sort this stuff out.
Sorry to hear your having some problems, considered sending by ship at all? sometimes slower but it is cheaper but it takes longer of course needs to packed right though. well good luck, hope it all turns out OK.
