spinnerup bits

I'm thinking about making a prerotator similar to what Mark Rolle had on his blue single seater ( I think Les Rush owns it now ).
A cone that is pulled back onto a shaped disk on the front of crank , a bit like the overhead shearing plants. Mark used a flexi drive but I reckon I might go with a sliding shaft & uni joints , theres a place in Tiaro QLD that has stainless stuff that looks neat.
Mark's set up seemed to work OK , don't know any RPM's , & it does away with needing a clutch & 90 deg gearbox .

What I need is a bendix , something like on the new MT-03 looks simple. Yeah , I know you got two Birdy , but I only need one.

How did you go with yours , Bones ?

Re: spinnerup bits

Thanks Davo,
I'm not sure if it will work as there is not much room between engine & mast.I may have to go with plan 'B' & get the complete setup from Neil Hintz.

Hey Echo
Me mate Bones, sent a ring gear over to use on me gyro.
When I got it, I checked to see if the Soob bendex would work, and it dose.
Oh yea, the starter is from a EA81.

Bones, I have a Wunderlick(sp) from my Air Command trainer. I will get it out and take some pics tomorrow. $42k and I throw in Hybrid.

Seriously, I do have one and will get it out tomorrow.

Re: spinnerup bits

I will get the bits out today and take some pics. You will see that they are similar to the Raf Birdy, but different engagement mechanism.

I will of course have to consider the amount of insults from interested parties before I make a decision.
