Wanted....a bent RAF
That's rite, gota be a tad bent. I want the cabin mainly, the other bits??????????
Have decided to start yet another build............will be the worlds first......I think
engine..........all alloy 2.4L, twin turbo, ..........DIESEL
the power and torque figures are made in heaven, will use approx 6...8 LPH
chasing the engine from overseas, should be ok to get
the tricky bit is getting a variable speed prop [ pitch adjustable, in flite ]...let's see how we go

Re: Wanted....a bent RAF
Hi All
Hey Russ this new gyro sounds innovative cutting edge type stuff mate just what the sport needs a shot in the arm from someone who has the money and imagination to try someting new, pity there are no manufactureres out there who are willing to support the concept of a clt gyro thats fuel efficient too mate.
Regards Mark

Re: Wanted....a bent RAF
Wrong info..........it's 2.0 Litre..................not 2.4L
Twin turbo diesel
125kw at 4200
max torque 350 newton thingos, from 1700.........to 2500rpm
using 6 litres for 100k's
all alloy
more to come..............
the plan is to cruise at 2300rpm, there abouts, as lots of torque then. Achieve this by spinning a pitch adjustable inflite prop.
stay tuned..........................................

Re: Wanted....a bent RAF
Russ,
Why not do it as a stick machine first? That way you don't need the cab.
I'll watch this one with great interest.
Cheers,
Nick.

Re: Wanted....a bent RAF
Yea thought of that, but we are 100% sure this will be winner, and i've got a heap of new "raf" bits to use up.
Have sourced.......engine, box,inflite adjustable prop
Engine is from europe, trying to nail a supplier there...........sorry about the secrecy here, but we are hoping to hit the world with a bang, so to speak.
The engines have only been released less than 6 months...............new technology.....yes, but the makers are well regarded worldwide...........in short, they are a class act.
We all remember the legendary soob ea81's................now we got the ej series, prooving to be damn good as well
it's all about looking FORWARD........using the "new technology" that is coming out.
Can recall flying in a Diesel powered "GA" all composite aircraft last year.............it was unreal. Cruised at around 170kts if i remember correctly..........all yours for a cool half mill.
