Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD
If my memory serves me correctly (which it doesn't always do) old Mitch stitched the whole thing together and was sending it to a dude by the name of Shaun (can't remember the last bit) who is the prez of the SA rotor club, I think.
I emailed him at the time, and got a reply that he knew nuthin about it, but when and if it all happened he would put me on the list of people who could have/buy/whatever one.
I could look back thru my emails and see if I can find it, or you can contact the SA rotor blokes and track it yourself.
Is that vague enough for you? (I'm going outside now to slap myself around the head with a lump of wood. I'm startin to write/sound/make as much sense as Russ . Just need to put in a few .... and a couple of __ to finsh it off )
Cheers

Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD
Fred,
Your absolutely right in the above post. I posted a link to him which was subsequently withdrawn after I got negative feedback concerning the availability of the video.

G'Day Fellas'
Last I communicated with Shaun Murphy he had purchased DVD burning programmes and had produced a DVD quality disc, which he was going to make available.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD
You are spot on there Fred. I/m not sure what went wrong but Shaun didnt seem all that impressed about the inquiry! so if anyone wants a copy of the 07 Nationals, they could well be out of luck!
Rosie and I are agonizing over a cam camera STILL but will definitely have something before easter. Trouble is that its dificult to get answers, particularly about these hard drive cameras. I'm concerned about gyro shake being too hard on the hard drive.

G'day Brian,
He seemed fairly good about it when I emailed him. I figured that he might have used up all his brownie points at home/work organising the show, and that marketing the video might have required time that he might not have spare for some time. We can only imagine that amount of work that went into something of that size (on an amateur basis). I think I have managed to copy our correspondence below. I doubt he would mind as there was nothing of a confidential manner contained in it.
Cheers
Hi Fred,
Thanks for the congrats in regards to the 2007 Nats. Lots of work to put on a show like that and one needs the support of dedicated people that can be relied upon to make it all happen and luckily we have such support here in SA. It was a total team effort and it was fantastically supported by the gyro fraternity as always, so the thanks also extends to the entire Australian membership because without their support such events would be extremely difficult to host.
With regards to the DVD, I'll have to e-mail you in the near future with the details as I was unaware that the information was going public, even more unaware that I would be receiving such requests. I will need to do a little research before I can provide you with a cost, etc, but thanks for the interest and you're now on the list.
Regards,
Shaun.

G'day Shaun,
Congrats on the very successful 2007 Nats. Reportedly the best ever held. Sorry I couldn't be there. Had intended to, but wife was medically indisposed.
Is ther any chance of a copy of your DVD at some stage? If you let me know the financial arrangements, I'll send the required loot.
Cheers

Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD
The SA crew put on a top show, well run and catered for although I think they might not have been expecting as big a crowd.
Their volunteers worked pretty hard and Shaun was one of them!
Brownie points , yes, they can be difficult to earn and easy to loose.
