Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD

I must admit I DID receive a Video of Lameroo Nats from Shaun. It was unedited, and would have needed quite a lot of work before being put onto DVD I would think, but heaps better than nothing!

I would suggest you contact Shaun with any queries. I didn't know about the DVD either.

He does not read the Forums. And is a very busy person with his young family, his work, and his studies.

Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD

"I taught I saw a puddy cat and it's offsider."

Mowing the lawns on the 23rd I think it was, could have sworn I saw ole Mate Doc Evans in a silver hatchback vehicle, drive passed slowly.

I never mentioned it to the wife till she mentioned she'd seen Welli at Lagana Shopping Centre yesterday.

I'd be down right dissappointed if you drove passed the Big ole Stone House and didn't drop in for a visit.

Any way back on topic.

The video tape (I guess this is what Welli is talking about) from Shaun is a copy from a mini DV camera. I have that copy and was prepared to edit it or put it out as is on a DVD's for the SA Club and Shaun.

The video tape is not really top shelf as it was not 'techoed' and Shaun investigated how to convert and copy etc, even going to the extreme measure of buying and researching all this DVD manufacturing stuff.

As Welli says at the time and I believe ongoing, was the fact that Shaun was heavily involved with studies for his Sargeants exams etc.

I converted the tape to DVD and added some of my footage which Elise had shot, then sent it back. The footage from us was superior to the quality of Shauns footage and includes some of the Blue Butterfly uploads to Youtube.

Last we spoke Shaun said he was finally on top of it all. He had taken out the extra footage we had sent and was reasonably happy with what he had. What eventuated from that I have no knowledge, reason being I guess is that I have the video tape (copy of a copy) and whilst I have converted it, it is not true DVD quality but is certainly video footage which would be a must in anyones collection. There are aerial displays by 'Jacko' David Jackson, and 'Birdy' David Bird and plenty of competition stuff etc.

Someone should call Shaun and inquire as to availability of DVD's.

Failing that there be no DVD available, then if Shaun were to agree, I could produce a DVD of the 2007 Lameroo Nationals from his and others footage. I have no time to organise permissions etc and do all the ringing around.

So if you want a DVD from Lameroo and anyone else has some short bits of film (less then 1 hr) that you can send me for inclusion, then contact Shaun, find out where he is on all of this, then let me know.

Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD

Mitch,
there is a new gadget called a " Dazzle " that can copy & edit any VHS or digital film thru your computer then burn to disc. From what I've read it has heaps of features - produce & place titles/headings , fade in/out etc. ...... $150 from Bing Lee , Harvey Norman etc.

I've got a DVD that I can send you that may be of some interest - what's your mailing address ? ( you've probably given it to me before .... )

All the best for the New Year.

Echo

Re: 2007 Nats video/DVD

G'Day Echo,

That would be great Echo.

Dazzle has been around a while now. I nearly got one. The portablity is a plus. I have an internal video conversion card, (installed into the tower) which does the same as Dazzle but has editing and handles copyright protections etc. It brings the VHS analogue signal into the PC and onto the hard drive, then digitizes the signal before conversion to DVD format.Again Dazzle does not have this so you would need to get extra software if your DVDs or VHS tapes have copyright.

Dazzle has to try and do what your computer would do and it handles this process OK but will drop frames, it struggles a bit to handle to info load, so not the best tool for high end production.

.....:" No cables are supplied for connection, so you'll have to be ready with some standard RCA or S-Video cables to hand. The DVD Recorder software is wizard-driven and extremely easy to use. It's undoubtedly to be expected, but Dazzle DVD Recorder can't handle copy protected material, whether it's DECSS encoded DVDs or Macrovisioned VHS tapes. It is, after all, primarily designed for digitising home movies, so if you were considering using it to archive an old commercial VHS library, you'd have to look elsewhere."

The other thing is people often believe they are going to get DVD quality from VHS analogue, this is not true. Certainly a great tool to capture all that old VHS stuff to 'plastic' but you cant get blood out of a stone.

I will talk to you soon Echo, till then Have a Great Festive Season and a Happy New Year.

Mitch.

No problems Bones, I understand you wanting to see some of the action. I'm sure something will happen eventually and you will be able to get your "fix"

Thumbs up LAMEROO DVD Get Your Copy! coptair@bigpond.net.au

Great News!

Shaun has the Lameroo DVD ready to go.

Now I told him he should just send you all one for nuthin cause your a great bunch of blokes and all.

Fact is if I was going to have a gyro DVD in my player it would be this one.

With all due respect to Lloyd and his fabluous production of Birdy's demo at Biggenden, this DVD has many added draw cards.

The by now 'Infamous' Jacko and Birdy demos from Lameroo are faithfully recorded from start to finish. Thes demos and the Lameroo Nats with the WA Boys/Qld Boys all doing their thing, PLUS the Lameroo Nats itself...Adrian Stoefels, Kev Traeger, Di Traeger and Shawn Murphy all guest speak. And of course Trophy presentations.

This DVD is as I said a must have, you will want this one!

Now Pay Up you Cheap Bastards! And support Shaun and his big effort during a very busy time for himself personally....Shaun is now a highly Qualified DVD Techo but still reserves the right to flog his computer with a hammer, should it fail to respond in a positive manner.

Shaun by the way was/is the Pres of the SA Rotorcraft Club at Lameroo, he and his fellow club members put on a great Nationals and this comes through in the video, lots of gyros lots of flying, too much fun.....Grab a DVD email Shaun coptair@bigpond.net.au

Thanks,

Mitch
