What in????? you tossa not that thing that you THINK is gonna be ready for it , heard a little whisper on the grape vine you got buckleys of it flying in time.
But there very well might be a gyro flying from Atherton thou, just not sure how long their round Oz trip is gonna take.

But from early measurements, it is 2000kms straight line from here to Wan. so double that(down and back) plus maybe another 500-800kms, damn that seat is sure gonna know the shape of my butt.

Hmmmmm still got time to build a good trailer

Re: 2007 Nationals

1; 3300 km i think it was, but not all flew the full length.

2; not sure, i thought a couple flew back.

3; thats an open question.
in one leg?
in one day?
no. of days continuous?
ina life time?
unassisted?
single or groop?

I only flew bout 1500 km one way this year. [ but if you took into account the headwind, or air miles, it was closer to 3000.]

Ok to clear up on no. 3

I was just thinking along the lines of, well we going to XXX, we gonna take XX long to get there and it is X far, sort of eg.
for this next Nats it gonna be about 4500-5000kms for total distance flying to achieve my goal to get to the Nats and get back home again.

Damn everytime i think of it it gets further. i think i need a hurrrg

Re: 2007 Nationals

[quote=bones;11684]3. Does any one know the longest distance ever flown in a gyro in Australia?

G'day Mark,
McGoo flew Darwin Adelaide for some sort of record. I think it was a time elapsed thing (i.e. Shortest time for distance).
And Ian Morecombe did the east - west flight ( I think) a few years back.
And Jacko and McGoo did a fairly long trip from Mildura up around the Kimberleys and back. (I think it was that far. From memory, it was a couple of week trip).

Tim will know details.

Cheers
Fred

Thumbs up Re: 2007 Nationals

Michel Richardson was the longest distance flight to the 2007 Nationals with a distance around 3200 km.
We left Bindoon on March the 27th and arrived at Lameroo on the 5th of April.
Adrian, Noel and Michel flew all the way.
All gyros were trailered home and we left on the Moday and arrived at Bindoon on the Thursday night late.
Was it enjoyable " Well roll on the next one". I recomend the experiance to anyone.
Cheers Des the truck steerer.

Bones, dont be a skirt, it not much longer than the Bign nats with a coupla bore runs thrown in.
And you got a million dollar cruiser, not a fat pig with the worlds worst seat tank.
