Re: 2007 Nationals

WA Guys,

For the next Nationals a few of us are exploring the possibility of flying from Bindoon WA to SA and return. Yes I am sick of turning up at ASRA Nats and watching others fly ( no disrespect to the guys who have lent me there gyro's in the past for the odd fly but its not the same!).

I expect that you will need two weeks off work - 3 to 4days to get there, 2 to 3 days for the Nats and 3 to 4 days to return.

If we can get enough interest to justify the hiring/borrow a truck with a large tray it would make the return trip a little easier (fly when you want- truck it when you want!)

If any of you are interested in joining us with your gyro's or as ground crew give me a call 0427094552 or A/hrs WST 08 95612979.

Regards,

Adrian

Re: 2007 Nationals

Wangaratta.............mate....is that in Oz.........nar russ, over the ditch, NZ i think...............p.ss off

Adrian..........great idea.........but how about

Why limit the nats to just 3 days, why not a week.....or more. Make it "your" flying annual leave. We all get together, have a hell of a time, fly here there everywhere, the local lads could orgynise things / places to go etc etc.
Could even have a couple of trainers there to get newbies into the air training etc.
Most of us spend more time just travelling to the nats and returning home...it's a bleedin mad dash.

If it's at a cooler place.....no worries, i'll bring a couple of dogs for the lads to throw in their swags.........just ask murray......works a treat.

But seriously........the 3 day thingo is in need of a revamp.......any ideas out there

PS...forgot..

and advertise the bleedin event.....get em all there........the public. Showcase gyros, enough of this word of mouth promotion stuff. The folks are hungry to always get gyro info, see em flying etc etc......christ every where i go, they comes a runnin, like bees to a honey pot............so let's do some thing about it.
This is a pet gripe of mine, along with "gyro news" not being in news agencies........Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Bloodyell Russ, most of us can only just last 3 days, ay Bones.
I cant see anythn rong with a week long stop sumwere, but i recon the actual ASRA meet part is well catered for with the 3 days.
And if you recon that people spend more time traveln, why not fly to it?
The best part for me this year was getn there, and getn back.[ getn Bones spastic was good fun too .]

Re: 2007 Nationals

Ok i have tried to find a thread about this but to no good yet.

questions i have;
1. how far did the WA fellas end up flying? nd dont say all the way, in km's or miles

2. Did they end up trailering back home?

3. Does any one know the longest distance ever flown in a gyro in Australia?
i would have though the round Oz trip by the MT03 fellas would have been the longest one so far(no not starting on that again).

4. Who has flown the longest distance to a Nats?
thinking Birdy this year
