Re: 2008 Nationals

Hi All

Actually Russ I just googled Wangaratta and Easter and found that Brown Brothers Winery haveFestival going at Easter, they are at Milawa and for all the peple not familiar with the area the general area is a treasure trove of wineries.

Wangaratta is close to Rutherglen, Glenrowan, Benalla, Beechworth and is generally considered the fhe start of the North East Victoria Region.

Wonder if they have a drop in strip at Brown Bros or some of the other wineries

Regards Mark

Hi Mark
Yes Brown Brothers have a strip, and all aircraft are welcome. A prior call is all that is required.

Sam..........

Thumbs down Not Going

Yep, I'm in the same boat.

MLS pre-rotators may not make it to Oz in time. My back and neck will not tolerate more than two or three hand spin ups in a day and I fly more than that at the Nats.

Costs to get to the Nats go up each year. Not having sold any Butterfly's for over 2 1/2 years makes it hard from a business point of view to keep throwing money at such a trip. The little bit of water between here and the mainland pushes costs on every thing through the roof. That's the sacrafice you make when you move overseas to the most beautiful state in Australia.

Every sport pilot keeps telling us what a fabulous little gyro kit it is (not one inquiry now for 2 years.) and every muster has had his or her say as to how to beef it up and what engine needs to be on it. Allan and I are doing the best we can to adapt to the Oz market but we are not actually 'steering the ship'. So we are no closer than we were 2 years ago. We have the components comming on line but we do not have the final say, so we are marking time., and TIME is MONEY!

We had hoped to have two Monarchs with two different types of GFLG and the Blue Emperor Butterfly all with Metro Lauch System pre-rotators at this event. Perhaps next year if TIME and MONEY allow.

I have been to 4 out of the last 5 Nats and very much recommend it to all. The Victorian Boys are about to put on the best yet, so good luck fellas and enjoy.

Hope you all enjoy yourselves and Fly Safe

Mitch
