Re: Cranbourne Flyin. Two Die in Ultralight Crash

Two blokes died in a ultralight crash today up the North West one was the husband of a Paramedic. Very sad day.

Well Bill got busy, with babysitting Grandkids and there's the vote on Saturday, so Bill canceled.

The weather looks ideal for Sunday, so I'll be there then for sure.
Saturday arvo might be good too. Hmm!

If there are any Taswegian gyro pilots still flying can you contact myself or Gillian Hills at Cranbourne.

Cheers,

Mitch.

Thumbs up Re: Cranbourne Flyin

IT"S ON!!!!!

Apparently, Cranbourne now has a CFI Ultralight/Trikes and one is cautioned as to his particular peculiarities..... not sure how he feels about GYROS but I've been hangared there for a considerable time, just haven't bumped into him yet.

There will be a guy named Boris flying a powered chute about 0800 Hrs.

I'm confirmed for 0730 Hrs. Once the sea breeze is in by 0930 -1000 hrs there wont be any chutes flying. Coastal Wind warnings. It blew 30 knots here this arvo. Sunday 5-10 knots, with the High

Ole Mate 'Nudge' will be up and about in his X-Air and I understand another gyro pilot will be at Cranbourne, some stage over the weekend. Look forward to meeting/catching up with him.

Sunday looks the goods, the high setting up right over our little 'patch'

Mitch.

Re: Cranbourne Flyin

G'Day Tim,

Got tired so came on home. The 5 -10 knots turned into a full blown Bass Strait, 'sea breeze'...25-30 knots and blustery/variable, whatever you want to call it, it aint what was predicted.

Had a couple of short flights (35 mins @) earlier on. Nudge got some good shots of me doing some fly bys, he will send then through.

Tis beautiful country Tim. I have very much fallen in love with Tasmania and all its diversity. You just can't trust the Met staff and being over optermistic can have it's drawbacks, ie hanging around the hanger/club house all day. By 6pm it will be a delight.....here's some CRITTERS.

Back behind on the white track is the Training area (full of Critters).
Here in the last 2 pics I am on climb out heading North, turn left on Cross Wind Leg and fly between the Dams and head towards the Range, turn left again Down Wind Leg and your looking at the hay bail shot previously and there are plenty of Critters along that stretch, just not visible.

Wifes home, must go. Did I mention the Weather in Tassy can be a P***Off!

Re: Cranbourne Flyin

Nudge's boy turned up later in the day, so I'll post a pic or two of him in his SkyFox 912

Take a real good look at the first pic, the lad 'dead sticked' it from 3000'.
