gday gday

OK - Am a little bit of a new meets old situation - hope that old saying cant teach an old dog new tricks proves to be wrong.

I have tried a single trial flight of a glider once - it was terrific but lacked freedom. I hear you say - how can that be possible up there? actually the freedom was terrific however the process of organizing to get in the sky was terribly drawn out - finding a club getting there - Its terrific for a rare occasion however the freedom comes from having my own equipment and being able to get airborne whenever i feel on my terms.

All that being said i would like to go about the traing over the following few months - probably take me till after christmass to get airborn on my own however lessons between now and then really should be organized...

I was thinking of spending some of my time over the chrissie break working on an engin for a gyro - after the engin is finished then there is the frame and the rotors - its all inside my head at the moment but i am sure looking forward to getting some books and doing some reading...

Would be great to find some instructions on how to build a gyrocopter to - getting my eye on the target so to speek...

That says a bit about how i arrived here

Welcome FFS. Give me a call on 0411 336 533, or an email at paulbruty@tpg.com.au.

Our Firebird gyroplanes are being manufactured at the Echuca aerodrome BUT I train at both Ballarat and Echuca aerodromes.

G'day ffs,

Welcome to the site.

Your from around Melbourne you say?
Have you had a flight in a gyro yet and have you met anyone from around Melbourne who flies?

Sorry for being nosy but there are quite a few members flying around that area who would have a wealth of knowledge they could pass on to you. Melbourne also have a club - contact SamL, he's a member here and may be able to help you.

Here's a link to the Victorian Sports Rotorcraft site also.

Hi FFS

Yeah i agree about the bullshit in getting someone organised to teach you to fly. BUT it is ok if you take charge of the training schedule. eg. for you next lesson, don't let them say see you next time, or next time will never come, organise a firm time and date for training. lots of students and instructors leave things up to fate to meet and it dosn't work like that. I'ts worth it in the end.

Thumbs up Re: gday gday

Hi ??????
The Rotorcraft Association of Victoria is holding a Fly/Drive this weekend (Friday to Tuesday but Sat & Sun are the main days).
We are expecting about 20 people to attend. This would be a great place for you to meet gyro pilots and there machines.
There will also be T.I.F's (trial instructional flights) available this weekend. Paul Bruty has made himself available along with his new Firebird Gyroplane (weather permitting).
For more info, on this weekend, you can check our web site, and see Kotta weekend.

Victorian Sport Rotorcraft Association - Kotta Fly-in

Regards Sam La Bruna....

Usually happens to those that have been bit by the gyro bug, like me... If you like flying at all you'll love this. Nothing better than being able to pull up on a postage stamp when your engine fails, that is why I fly gyro, lovely rotors without motors.

Cheers,

Nick.
