Around the 1.5 to 1.8 lbs/square foot Bones. The legal mtow of 1320 lbs with 30' rotors gives a disc loading of 1.87 lbs/square foot. A bit high, so that is why I have a set of 33 AKs travelling somewhere between Jeff and myself.

Russ, I was hoping that you would get a 33' set and do some hours to see if they broke. Then I realised that you don't have a gyro !!!

The hub bar is 1.25" thick

Re: Rotor Blade Loading

That's Ok paul.........would rather be reedin about em, success or failure, then i could make an informed decision.

PS............has the flamechook ventured away from the bitumen yet, like a mile or 2.

Waddles's build should be in the air this next week..........should be. With 600 plus Lbs of thrust, it should be a ball terror

Re: Rotor Blade Loading

Hi Paul,

When you do your loading calc for the 30 footers, what are you putting in for the hub bar etc. I'm not getting the same number as you.... can you talk me through it, cos I don't want to miss something down the track.

Cheers

Paul

Well Russ what other option is there, you people keep making the machines heavier and heavier, as Birdy would say "heavy pigs of things", so then you need more hp to push them, and longer rotors to hold them up, time to get back to the drawing board i think, or what on, i know someone whom has
cant wait for the fly off Russ
