Russ, you bet against me to fly first.
Today did a 1.1 hour flight with my mate Mr concrete and 70 liters of fuel. Approx 1150 lbs/523 kg. I used 23 liters for the 1.1 chock to chock. Approx .1 taxiing.

This is the VVT engine without the VVT connected. Max rpm is 5200 and cruise 60 kts is 4800. My guess is around the 130 hp mark without the VVT connected. The climb rate is about the same as Hybrid with 120 hp.

Tomorrow I will have to order an ECU that will drive the VVT.

A couple of phone pics. I have the "useless to my old eyes" stratomaster on the passenger floor for altitude VSI and rrpm. The rest of the gauges are here there and everywhere until I get the new dash console.

Aussie Paul.

Re: Russells New Gyro

Hi All

Hey Russ, can do you a favour and pick up that rum for delivery if you want. You'll have to undo it so we can taste it to make sure it's ok to send. Don't want to be accused of carting inferior goods you know and I think we would have to be able to say it was good when we tried it mate.

Any instructions on what to do if along the way as half the gyro community are between here and Paul or even Murray. I'm likely to have heaps of people tell me that they owe them a drink or two - nah it wouldn't happen.

Regards Mark

Re: Russells New Gyro

Russ, Its about the biggest gyro I've ever seen,I would say the weight is not much different from the machine he flys for a living.(as per rego number) As soon as its at the hanger we'll know for sure. 610 lbs thrust is about it . The prop was pitched up slightly at that figure till thrust droped slightly then left at that. If you could rig up a way to do thrust tests in the air it would be good, and a better indication. Needless to say when the donk was at full noise tied to the truck it was impresive.
