Airspeed in a turn

What percentage does the stall speed need to be increased by when in a 30, 45, 60 or 75 angle of bank?

Re: Airspeed in a turn

Arrrrrrrrr better send that one to your "FW" mates

My wings don't "Stall"........I just sort of sink, ezy fix......... dial on sum more grunt
then again, throw it real hard into a turn, and then no sink.........these gyros love the ruff stuff, no pussy footin around with em........and work that throttle

Re: Airspeed in a turn

Russell,

In fixed wing we work on the following sets of information regarding stall speed and angle of bank
30 degress increased by 7%
45 degrees increased by 19%
60 degrees increased by 41%
75 degrees increased by 100%

I was wondering if it would be similar or more given the change of configuration between fixed wing and gyro's.

Does anybody out there know?

Ted

Re: Airspeed in a turn

best thing you can do is chase up an instructor with 2 seater, get him to do it with you..........but must admit they is getin as rare as rocking horse shyte.

More n more are givin it away..........pity

Interesting to note tho, some "CFI's and Instructors" listed have no machines, some that way for a long time. One "CFI" aint owned or trained for bloody years, but he's listed :

Must be a "cluby" thing.........you're in it for life

Re: Airspeed in a turn

Angus, i definately arent no instructor(shit i cant even get my own flying proper) but when doing hard turn and the likes, probably cause i'm a lazy prick, but i use the stick for about 98% of the turn, and only use the pedals for the last bit just to finish it off(the turn that is)..

So do I take it that you don't really know? And that you only fly by the seat of your pants?
