Auxillary fuel tanks

Them "Turtle pac" collapsable bladders, can you stand em on end to pump out of, or must they be layed flat.

Also do they vent and fill the cabin with fumes.

Considering getting 2 of em 20 L each, giving me 40 extra litres.[ lay em on me cabin floor ]

The guy who sells em is away for a couple of weeks, so i figured to ask here in the meantime.

20L ????
I thought the smallest was 40L.

Yeh, a leclec pump will suc the guts outa it if you dont turn it off before it runs dry, every last drop.
No vent, compleatly sealed, mine sat next to me for nearly 4000km and i never smelt anythn . Better n any passenger i ever had , cept he didnt say much.

Re: Auxillary fuel tanks

The guy mailed me, said he could supply 20L bladders and set em up just like the 40L ones........pumps etc
When he gets back, he's calling me to sort it.

I figured 2 x 20L would be more easier to stack in, and if i only need to use the one, then only fill one.

Query.............can you partially fill the 40L and still pump it out etc ????????

Russell I would imagine that as long as you never had any air in it you could have 10 liters in a 40 lt bladder and it would all suck out.

Aussie Paul.

Re: Auxillary fuel tanks

Think about it Russ, if you start with 40 lts and pump it out, the level has to go past every level at some point.
