Re: New Two Place

yep, its really good oil, now what did you want to know ?

Its the cross country cruiser. It replaces the Firebird, the Firebird is no longer, just from my observation, it does not share much if anything with the Firebird. Its not yet fully finished but it is flying, goes well and the makers have plans to make it go even better to the extent that it could potentially become a 100 knot cruiser.
It flew during the weekend but I didnt go for a ride unfortunately. Nick Spehr has been doing test flying and he reckons its a great machine.

You missed a great weekend there Mitch!

Re: New Two Place

Golden Butterfly (Subaru EJ25 190 hp) $41,291 AUD plus GST
Turbo Golden (Subaru EJ20 220 hp) $46,724 AUD plus GST
Turbo Golden (Subaru 2.5 300 hp ) $52,164 AUD plus GST

Turbo Golden 220 hp 7' wide Magnum GFLG landed in OZ for around $55,000, that includes GST, freight the lot.

$25,000-$30,000 seems a lot get a composite pod

Personally having flown the Magni and Golden I'd take 'G' Force and a far better price over what appear to be hugh mark ups for adding composite empenages.

I believe Larry Neal is doing a MLS for the Golden Butterfly

Now I reckon your approx 80 grand will grow substantially, remember PB was talking 35 K, then that blew out to asking 45 K for the sale of the hybrid, so I guess the Firebird would have been 50 K plus after GST, that is still $30,000 less than the gyro in the pic. I hope Paul got a decent dollar for all his efforts.

How well it will sell will be determined by the quality, performance and price.

Fly safe.

Re: New Two Place

Hey Russ,

385 kgs ~ what are we looking at? Add some:
120 lbs of fuel and two people at 220 lbs @, she runs out at 1400 lbs

Do you have any idea of the AUW?

What size Pats?

What is the rated HP?

I do like the look of the pod though just a tad long in the nose. I'd like to hear some feed back regarding yaw effects with the doors on.

Mitch.

Re: New Two Place

385 with unuseable fuels..........30ft blades, 170hp, yea....tad heavy, no doors as yet, they are definate about their price.

[ forgot.......inflite roll and pitch trims, elec ]

this is a "cruiser"......no if's about that........forgot...external alloy fuel tank

Re: New Two Place

External fuel.......For my mind, that's the best thing I have heard about it so far, that and running Patroneys.

Now I'm not on my own with my earlier post. I took a couple of calls today and had some interesting exchanges.

If you are right Russ and of course I have no reason to doubt you, the Cruiser with doors will be a big chunk dearer again. If the Aussie manufacturers keep moving the $ numbers up, Xenon sales could increase accordingly. A lot of people around the world believe the Xenon to be the no 1 cross country 'cruiser'. Me I like open frame gyros. Tandem ones with fancy landing gear

I really wish I had seen the Cruiser and the Xenon and flown a comparison.

Hey! Russ you got to take it for a blap, have you done the same with the Xenon and if so, what are your thoughts?

Anyone else take a flight in both and like to comment. I would appreciate hearing your impressions of both. Thanks.

Mitch.

Re: New Two Place

I am impressed by the 2/3rds size tall tall placed well back.
Nothing short coupled about this side by side.
Not the most attractive gyro.
