Re: gyroscopic gyros

Gyroscopic gyroplanes are among the best built gyros in the world. If I were to consider getting Ross Symes from Broken Hill to build you one of his Gyroscopic gyros I would insist, as most newbies do these days, that Ross build to the more stable designs by, if using Subaru engine, to have the gearbox mounted down, and to fit the largest h/stab that Ross makes or even larger again.

A Rosco gyro, as we all tend to call them, built to the newer geometry of having the Center of Mass and the thrust line within 50mm of each other and fitted with a suitable H/stab, would have to be my preference for a non fully enclosed gyroplane.

Re: gyroscopic gyros

Rosco [Gyroscopic Rotorcraft] doesn't have a web page so its a matter of giving him a ring and he will probably be able to give you a address of someone in your area who does have one of his gyros so you can have a look or else take a trip to Broken Hill. There is plenty of other things to see and its become a thriving tourist town with lots of gallery's of very good artists as well as mine tours and many other things.

I have a 'Rosco 'gyro, done a bit over 4000 hours and still going well ! At the latest gyro get together at Easter, we saw a brilliant display of flying by Birdy using a Rosco built gyro. The one thing you can be confident in with a Rosco machine is that every bit that goes into that gyro has been tested for many thousands of hours so you can enjoy flying knowing that you are not a test pilot.
Rosco will also service /fix his gyros and can do engines, radios, wire helmets and anything else that needs doing.

Ah Ken, Aren't you talking about his organising other half. I think she is the person that does the selling of the Rosco machines. Rosco just does as she says. Nah they are both top people. I would post a pic if I could get it to work. Ah Rotor I will email it to ya . Des Garvin

Re: gyroscopic gyros

Most of the components of this gyro were sourced from Rosco .

Note the redrive mounted in the 'up' position - if it had been mounted down it would have turned it into a heap of sh1t , only my opinion.
