RAF magic bush

Hi Russ, here are a couple of pics of an RAF damaged magic bush. I tried to turn it down but I was not clever enough. They are 2.25" wide and 1.5" in diameter. The y go all strange and stickin in the humid areas like Florida and Darwin.

Aussie Paul.

Re: RAF magic bush

That looks like polyester resin in the pic Paul. Can you confirm. If it is, Polyester resin will absorb moisture at a constant and predictable rate and may cause problems in areas of high humidity.
I am a newbie to Gyro's but have considerable experience in engineering & GRP moulding. Can you explain the purpose of the bush in question. You can turn resins, but there are techniques in doing so. Maybe there is an alternative material that could be used. The idea of casting a bush of that size can lead to problems of exothermic reaction, but without knowing what the material is exactly, it's hard to say.
