Image FAQ - How to adjust the size of your Photos

Here is a good little program you can use to adjust the size of your photos really quickly (thanks for pointing me to this little program Sonnyj). The program is called PIXresizer and can be downloaded from:

PIXsizer Download Page

Use the following settings and your photos will be large enough to see, have good image quality BUT will be small enough in file size to enable fast upload and download.
  • Size your photo to: Custom 640 x 480
  • Click on the jpeg tab: picture size (kb) is low at 30% (have a look at the quality try saving it at 30, 40 and 50% you won't see any difference in quality at 640 x 480 believe me) If your photo doesn't look too good at 30% then up it a little at a time until your happy with it. Even though we'd like the smallest file size we don't want to destroy the quality of the picture - every picture is different when compressing.
  • This will bring a 640 x 480 photo down from 121KB to around 36KB without any real appreciable loss in quality.

Good luck
