How to Place a Pin on the Members Map

OK. So you want to place a pin on the Member Map.

You can place either a Member Location marker or an Airfield Location marker on the map.

Go to the Map and select - Submit Pin from the left hand menu.

Member Location Marker

Firstly select "Member" from the "Category" drop down list.
By entering your Street Address, City/Town, State/County, Country and Postcode the pin should point directly to your house.

If you only want the pin to point to your Town then leave out your Street Address and the pin will locate over the centre of the Town you enter.

In either case make sure you also enter the State ( Must be full state ie NOT NSW but New South Wales, NOT N.T. but Northern Territory ) and Postcode - and any other information you want to display into the Description field.

If you live in the bush and don't have a Town address you will need to enter a location by a Lat and Long. You must enter the degrees as a decimal and not by Minutes and Seconds.

If you want to get this right the first time then install Google Earth. If you haven't got Google Earth then here's the link to download it - Google Earth.
Now go into Google Earth and find the your exact location that you want to put on our "Member Map". Place a pin over your location, edit the pin to find the Lat and Long that Google Earth gives to you (Don't forget to change the options to "Degrees" in Google Earth settings though). Now use this Lat and Long when you submit your location - NOTE: Only use the Lat and Long and leave EVERYTHING else blank except for NAME

Don't forget if you live in the Southern Hemisphere the Lat must be preceded with a minus sign ie -23.334 or else the pin will show in the Northern Hemisphere.

Airfield Location Marker

Firstly select "Airfield" from the "Category" drop down list.

Enter your info as you would for the above as "If you live in the bush" description.

Remember to check that all of your information is correct before submitting it! Once your press enter you cannot change the information!

Any Questions - ask
