2Nd Day G Force Release Mechanism

Rate this Entry
I'm having a 'stab' at making up and putting together the G Force Release Mechanism.

The Butterfly Build Book is very easy to follow and a CD is sent out with each Butterfly Kit that has many wonderfull photographs detailing parts and chronological order of assembly.

To date the upgrade work has been a 'snack'......

There are approx 6 or 7 Stainless Steel 90 degree Tangs required for the manufacture of the G Force release. Some of them are flat tang connectors. I got some flat SS plate from Al, and made up a 90 degree tang, fitted it then took it off and bin'd it!

The second one is closer to the correct dimensions of the SS Tang for the Trim Spring, which is in the kit.

You can see the SS Tang has been bent 90 degrees to carry the pulley wheel cable keeper and Plunger Bolt.....I added a little bush (alum) under the head of the plunger bolt as the SS tang flapped about a 'tad'. This still allowed for full movement of the plunger bolt to set back into the hole drilled in the release box.
