  • Super Sky Cycle

The first production Super Sky Cycle has taken to the air and to the highway, said Valorie White, Executive Vice President of The Butterfly, L. L. C. On February 20th the maiden flight of the first production Super Sky Cycle was a great success. The flying motorcycle was also registered as a homebuilt motorcycle on November 10th.

The Butterfly, LLC’s production version of the Super Sky Cycle “Flying Motorcycle” has completed the first 30 Production Kits. Having a vehicle that can both drive on the road, park in the family garage, and fly through the air is now a reality.

The patent on the Fly-Drive Vehicle was awarded in December 2005 just days after the first test flights of the flying motorcycle prototype.

The new production version has several changes which include the larger Rotax 912ULS 100 hp 4 stroke airplane engine, a separate drive engine, front and rear disk brakes, a new lighter weight and more aerodynamic front
strut with a sleek tear drop wheel pant, and twin 5’ long finned rear wheel pants adorned with Cadillac style tail lights. A third Cadillac style tail light is mounted on the vertical fin of the rudder.

Along with the new retro/space age look comes the aerodynamics of an aircraft for a faster cruising speed.
