just wondering what hp i can expect from my ea 81? its turboed with a single su carb.
thought it would be under 90 and more like 80 but russ's duel carb is much more and this got me thinking...
what sort of performance can i expect with a 1.8:1 gear box and a 64/52 prop.
with me in it and half feul it weighs 200kg [without rotors], and has 28 ft larkins.

Bones,
this is my EA81 tandem I sold , all I did to the motor was some head work & twin Mikuni flat slides , I am about 95kgs & have flown with 85kgs in back seat + 40/50ltrs fuel. Redrive was a 'C'box 2.62-1 witha 76" Warp Drive. Hope this helps.

Hoody,
I have an older rosco machine with a standard ea81, 25 foot Goodwin rotors, re-drive and 76" warp drive prop.
With me at 85 kilos it's like stepping on an escalator on take off. It has about the same performance as a Rotax 582 single place gyro. Climbs out beatifully at 40 knots. Don't know top speed, havent tried - happy to mope around at 45-50. Getting about 14 litres an hr I think, maybe a little more doing circuits.
hope this helps ..

Being able to swing that 76" warp drive is your answer, makes the soob perform
