Fatal Accident Hervey Bay

News has it that there has been an unfortunate accident involving a gyrocopter at Hervey Bay. The accident happened yesterday at a private airstrip at Nikenbah. At this stage I have no other info but will update as soon as any details become available.

Can anyone confirm that it was a gyrocopter and not another type of aircraft?

The news article on Seven Last night-briefly showed the tangled remains of a Gyro and said that the incident occured "While taxi-ing". Pilot was found dead on arrival at the scene a "private airstrip" at Nikenbah.
