Bought a new garman GPS 296 model last yr.........love it. Comes with 2m lead that you plug into cig lighter.
Decided to cut off the bulk of the wire, and just have a real short lead plugging into a dash plug, rather than the cig lighter with all that excess wire looping around.
Rang mendolhssens ( aero shop ) chasing another lead to do this chop, no probs $65.00, great send me one.
Was telling a mate as he was thinkin of doing the same.........yea right, he goes and gets the same thing from a marine shop...........$23.00

just clarify a point...........i'm not having a go at the aero shop, they give damn good service, used them several occassions...........was surprised at same thing at marine place, heaps cheaper.:blahblah:
