Man I could get a job with CASA for this one but.... Who purposely completes a flight plan and leaves it with someone else prior to departure or do we simply go for a fly and say... "Well I was thinking about heading north but it looked so damn nice south of here"?

Hunter Valley Gyro Club has a whiteboard thats logs the appropriate info for each flight.
The weak link in the chain is getting each pilot to fill out the info.
For longer trips, I do a written plan that includes the route , estimated arrival and departure time at each of the stops.

One lesson I've learned is to give yourself plenty of time, in the plan ,to reach each planned contact point. One bad feeling is to know you have plenty of fuel, adequate light but to know everyone is worried, because your late. This stress is the last thing you need to effect the decision making process.
