Okay, its been one of them weekends, just sitting here thinking all sorts of wierd design concepts and.... I was wondering why we couldn't come up with a jump start function by getting the rotors to increase their angle of attack upon a request by the operator.
Two rums later.... and there it was.... a central inner post that could be raised/lowered by a collective actioned by the pilot. The raising/ lowering of an inner post which controlled the attack angle which when returned to its normal position returned the rotors to its accepted position of flight?
Naysayers, can you be explicit in your defence of the current view.... Yeasayers, speak boldly for the hour is upon us.. :buddy:

If you want to jump start, buy a helicopter, its easer. :evil_laugh:

I'm all for a big  to that one ... I think simplicity is best .....
the less that moves,
The less that can go wrong
The less dollars it costs
The less maintenance to do
The less flying skill required
and this all adds up to what really counts .... more flying

Ok* :focus:
I went to Mentone this year and had a wonderful time, thanx to folks like Greg Mitchell and Brad King.
While there I had a chance to get a close up look see at "gyrino". I was amased at how meticulas this machine is put together, she is an imaculate bird, all be it a very complicated disign. Just too look at her and try to study her close up, it seemed offly buisy in there.
Here are a couple pix.
:cheers

Okay, we are a little of track but...
The colour of pure bundy, or failing that rum and dry, or rum and ginger beer. Getting picky I know, but in russel's case an intravenous drip does the trick.
Ok, yar tosser........
Bloody gyros go perfect the way they is........you wana jump start one......then jump into a chopper
Makin gyros more complicated is makin more probs to go wrong......leave em alone, as is....
YEARS back, they got gyros to jump start.........we call em choppers now, and look at the bloody rules they have , not to mention the runnin costs etc etc etc
And it's your shout for the next rum.........mate
