Any incident is bad news.
I can only hope his injuries aren't bad and that he makes a full recovery quickly!
Any other info on possible causes?

As I understand it, I was the only person on site who actually saw G-100 hit the ground. I had visibility of the aircraft at just above tree height on take-off, and can I say that the news article is not 100% correct. He was not practicing landings, and he may have been 800' ASL but not 800' AGL.
I am not authorised to expand any further; however I have visited Stuart in hospital and he has 3 cracked vertibrate (maybe 4, he was having another MRI when I arrived). He has stated that he will no longer be flying his gyro (once repaired) nor his ultralight. He said you don't get two chances at cheating death.

Its a bit sad to hear Stuart is giving gyro's away
Nick, I reckon its a suby 2.2. Approx 120 horses at full tap.
