View Full Version : Another 2 seater about to hit the market
Rob P, has been quietly designing a side by side 2 seater, him being a composite expert, its got inbuilt tanks, composite suspension, smicko looking pod, that can adapt to a bubble on top. Designed to take the ej series engines.
Mate checked it out last week, rekins it is one hell of a machine, so in a few weeks i intend dropping in to Robs, and taking it for a blat. Picys will follow.
Rob is planning on selling them for around 40......50 grand........fly away.

Russell you have got to be kidding calling this a OZZY build machine bloody hell it is a Yanky kit that is modified, steady one, there is no way he can build one of these without the main kit frame and componaints to build around, be different if he was building the cabs and every thing from scratch, but then if he were it would be a 10 year wait for a machine.
Yea......uhmm....rrrrrr....ok, so you got me there.
Hang on a minute........what was used from the "kit"
Cabin, mast, front keel, seat tank, rotorhead, some bracketry...........that's about it
The rest was tossed aside. The bloody lot. The machine concept was "totally" redesigned to Rods specs, and remaking of components to suit the "Raftorr" was done by Rod.
Without a doubt, the machine is definitely Oz, with "some" yank gear..............some.
Oz built, with "some" yank parts................OZ machine 4 sure. :peace:

Mast Keel seat tanks, rotorhead, plus cabin, that means pedals, joysticks all the incabin stuff still the same.
Whatever Rob P has comming will be top shelf for sure but dont be certain it'll stay at 40-50. It might Rob and his wife do all the glass work , props and blades....kinda cuts alot of others out the process, so they should be able to undercut Firebird. But why would you if you have something 'schmick'.!!
Russell when you say Rob has glassed the tanks into the cabin structure/firewall, can you ahve a look at this detail when you hit Bundy. Thanks. I'll probably call Rob before then to talk blades, but check it out will ya?
Mitch.

Looks fantastic! But isn't the cabn a bit low???

Bare cabin only...........just the shell. Joystick from robo 22, pedals etc etc etc all new via Rod, seriously
...........bugger all was used of RAF.
At that time [ 2 yrs ago ] my choices of cabins was limited, so RAF it was.
Yea will be seein Rob ina few weeks, he is doing the last little bits to get it flying, engine already fired up.
The plan is to have it going when i get there. Looking forward to taking it for a blat.
Me mate that has seen it, rekins it"s a real "pearler".............the best he's seen.
Weighs in at approx 280kg, that's with unuseable fuels.
Will be taking a heap of pics.........standby
