Can this be done, being new here, I could use one of these as a prawn spotter maybe. just thinking of the possibilities.
An utralite was used with limited success a year or two ago by another boat, winds were the problem mainly, but I hear these gyros go good in wind...........luke

Can this be done? Yes, nothing is impossible how ever the problem starts with the floats putting too much drag down low, which can lead to pio, or ppo, there has been a few people trying it but to my knowledge it hasnt been seriously looked at.

Not a bad concept, but I think fuel may be an issue, and where to put down when things run quiet. Will the seas be calm enough? Gees the questions begin to flow......

Bill Lochridrge was the bloke with the gyro on floats up at TI. He is living in Mareeba now and is currently rebuilding a Gyro. I can dig his number up if you want to talk to him. I have a photo of it somewhere aswell.

Yea, that's the guy. Don't know for sure if it was fact or fiction tho.
Do know that he had a bingle at mareeba airport, left a bad impression with the shire council, they were pissed off. Took quite some effort for me to get approval to operate out of there coz of his actions.
Also bert larkin did have a flying gyro on floats, abowt 20 yrs ago, call him to get some info. Lives Qld way "home hill" south of townsville. [ somewhere that area ]
Hope this helps........

Yea luke........heading your way, call me for a gyro flite........or mail me
