I'm USUALY in control wen im flyn, i try not to let the situation get me too excited, but I f&^%$dup today. :flamed:
Im always telln new mustern blokes that wen your in the air, YOUR the boss. Noone can tell you how to do it or set the pace. Maybe i should listn to meself sumtime. :blahblah:

The day was go'n good, concidern i was tryn to muster an area that usualy takes 2 machines, or one over 2 days. Bigish area [ bout 300 sqkm] with losta scrub.[ and cattle full of green feed n bad manners]
The first 8 hours were good but I had a little trouble just before i had me last fuel stop that sorta got me blood up, and cost us abit of time.[ that we didnt have to spare] ::)
Anyway, after topn up, and given the crew instructions, i spun um up and had just opened the 912 up for TO wen a bloody great bang came from behind, with abit of a shudder from the machine.
Wot the f%$#ells go'n rong now!!!!! :anger: :anger: :chainsaw:
The prop was maken sum funny noises and it was vibraten abit so i shut it down, and found bout 6" of one of the IVO mag blades lookn more like a feather duster than a prop blade. :yikes:
^%##$* *%$%^&...........(^&53 $^$%@$^&*& :chainsaw:
Then i realised wot had happened.
The dichead PIC didnt secure the toolbox lid proper, and it decided to camakazi into me prop.
The distractions of time run'n out, critters be'n cheeky and blood be'n hotter than it should ment i wasnt in control.
Simple.

Only one moron to blame ere ay. :punch:

Seen a 10mm ringy go thru a skyhawk jet engine back in the seventies and still a vivid picture.Must have been exciting and expensive.ps,if the temp is on the rise read a book by Tom Cole called "Hell West and Crooked" if you hav'nt already.Bout a stockman from pommy of all places back in the 1920's up to the second world war in Darwin.Started off in fnq and worked all over.Vrd,wave hill, daly waters, mined tin on the roper bar etc.A humble man with a good sense of humour.

:chuckel: Its the simplest of things that can create mayhem!! Add being in a hurray as well as the blood being a few C higher that normal and you got the breeding ground for a problem.

I have done worse !

Hey Birdy,

I'm glad it shifted when it did ole Mate and not latter whilst you where workin. :paper:
It's always good to see you each year Bloke.
Geez it's green all the way to the west coast and back. Nullabor right through, got greener whilst in the west. Great to see this dry land greened up a tad. Not real green round Melbourne yet but Tassie is looking mighty dry still. How's your spread, the Parakeelya (sp?) got plenty of wet yet?

Yet another inspirational demo flight you flew for us at Lameroo, Birdy! Bloody awesome. And 'Jacko'! Truley guys get your 'fingers out' and make an effort to book your hollidays now Easter 2008 at Where ever the hell it is (the Nats) and you will be forever changed by what you experience. The precision flying displays by these Blokes is jaw dropping stuff, that looks great on DVD but is only fully appreciated by being present at that moment in time. So whilst Birdy and Jacko and the young guns like Robbie are going to afford me a glimpse, a moment to indulge in the magic of man and machine becoming a flying singularity......sorry Birdy, high jacked, just home hope your all good out there and fly safe Mate.

Bones, how they hanging shaggs, if your using cement Mate they'd be prone to harden, then hang more en more.

Ciao,

Mitch
