Need some help - the two plastic seat tanks I have on the tandem don't have the clear hose on the sides for fuel level . What I need to know is the best way to instal the fittings into the tank ie: drill & tap & screw in some brass 90 deg barbs , or glue in some push-in plastic male ends ?
Thanks
Echo
Ring jerry G...........get the name of the company that extrudes his tanks, call em, get some of their goo.
Did this yrs ago myself...........works brilliantly.

Thanks.
The two seat tanks should be enough , I'd be looking for a p1ss stop by then :silvia:.
Just in the process of plumbing up tanks ; got a fuel flow sensor to hook up to Flight 11 instrument , Muz helped me out where to locate it ( :moon: no , not there....) in relation to getting an accurate reading.

The only thing you will be flying in to the next nats will have a big red kangaroo on the tail and they have toilets on board. :fingers:

Eric, I meant Russ. By the time Rod puts all the bells and whistles on Russ's gyro Russ will be in the nursing home dribleing and trying to con onto 90 year old female inmates. Rod will be in an adjoining room.
As for your fuel tank gauge, just drill and tap the very top of the tank, put in a 90* barb and run the sight gauge to a T piece at the bottom outlet. As the top one doesnt come in much contact with fuel(you never fill it to the brim anyway) it wont leak.Put a bit of fuel resitant goo or liquid thread tape if you want. And before anyone says it will suck air when the fuel gets low, it wont.
Wont be able to give you much more advice Eric, Im now under contract with PB to go to Ballarat for a month to do a full re-engineer of Flame Chook. :peace:

Hard to imagine those two together for a month , Sam :punch: :chuckel: . Maybe they will become good friends  :eyebrow:
Thanks Muz , all done . Got a BSP tap & put the brass barb fittings in , doubt if they will leak as they went in fairly tight

Sam, Me a good bloke??, you must be thinking of someone else. Maybe if you send Paul a photo of your gyro and said Paul, copy this thrustline etc, I wouldnt be arguing with the big galoot all the time.
Eric, you shoud have been at Lamaroo, you would have seen me shake hands with Paul and even a bit of a hug,in a non sexual way of course.
