For those that haven't heard already, apparently there was an incident in WA the other day.

During training just after taking off whist carrying out touch and go's, a gyro crashed and burned. Apparently the hub bar failed jettisoning one rotor completely causing the craft to roll in and crash shortly after taking off - luckily fairly close to the ground and no-one was seriously injured.

No doubt ASRA are investigating so don't expect to hear too much until initial investigations have been carried out.

ASRA have posted an AD concerning the hub bar failures recently. In the interest of everyones safety there is a copy of ASRA's request and link to the document. If anyone has any trouble opening the document then let me know and I'll post it on the site ...

Hi Guys,

Attached is the latest AD on Hub-Bars.* If possible, could you please place it on your websites, as we are trying to gain maximum exposure.

Thank you in anticipation.

A copy of the AD is being posted snail mail to every member over the next couple of days.

Regards
Llewella
