Re: Taxying with rotors turning
Its interesting that while the FAA or USA regulates to have rotors stopped while taxying, here in Ozz we have a totally opposite view and it occured to me all this discussion is so typical of the rubbish that goes on when you have an organization {FAA], very learned people with scientific data and wonderfull theroies being so totally wrong thats its stupid.
Now, in one corner you have the likes of Birdy, Jacko, myself, probably between us have well over 10,000 hours of flying experince in the bush using a variety of strips, Jacko, a former Operations Manager with ASRA and board member has plenty of expereince with accidents and incidents involving rotors. WE know and have absolutely no doubt of the dangers of taxying with rotors not turning yet because we have no scientific formulae for working this out, then our views are totally worthless and are thrown out by whoever started this thread off.
Its been proven many many times that a degree after your name and a scientific background, does NOT mean you have it right and even worse is that in this case, not having it right might well lead to rotor /hub bar failure resulting in serious injury or death.
Im not against forumulas to work with but in the absence of data, why then not go back to baicas that have been proven over time!
One thing that interests me is why Drifter that you havent the courage to put your name up there? Personaly, I think it should be a forum requirment to have your real name up there.
