As this is my first post I just thought I would pass on something that I found while doing my pre flight today.
As I was checking the wing nut on the air cleaner on my ea81 I found the stud that holds the air cleaner to the carby was broken.
As there would be no load on the wing nut it would not take much for the wing nut to undo dropping the stud down the throat of the carby.
So the new stud will be drilled and a clip fitted this will not stop the stud and wing nut going through the prop but its better than the stud going through the carby.
Has anyone got any thoughts?
I was reading with interest a few coments on another topic about practising engine out landings the only way I was taught to land was with the power off I hope if I ever do have a engine out this will be a advantage to me.
